When the Shepherd is a theif & liar....

Okay, so I'm really ticked.  I recently found out that a pastor I know is under federal investigation for Fraud.  yeah, I know, we had the Baker's back in the 80's - but this is personal.  I know this man.  It's different when it's close to home, when it's personal.

I am SOOOOOOO very tired of hearing about pastors who have abused their positions, and their congregation's trust, but more than that, they trample on the Word of God, on His blood!  I know I can't pass judgment, only God can do that.  But I mean c'mon.....SERIOUSLY?!?  WHY?  If you have faith in God to meet all your needs, why steal, lie, cheat, etc.  It's no wonder the world looks at Christians the way they do.  Christianity is the only religion that is FULL of scandal!  As much as I don't agree with Islam, you never hear about their scandals - they don't have any, cause if someone breaks the holy law - they die!  Not saying that is what Christians should do, but honestly, how much longer are these men & women "of God" going to do this kind of stuff??

Stop trampling on the Word.  Stop making a mockery of the blood that was shed. STOP LEADING PEOPLE TO HELL with your scripture twisting!

Stealing Sundays

For Some reason I can't link up tot he Stealing Sunday's blog-hop thingy.  Oh well, got this from Laura at her Life Happens Blog.  Looked fun, so here goes:

1. Name someone with the same birthday as you.
Elizabeth Taylor - well, at least the 7 failed marriages isn't shared as well!

2. Where was your first kiss?
On the playground in 2nd grade - Joshua Solieu snuck up from behind me and kissed me on my cheek, and then ran off.  It would be YEARS before I had my first "real" kiss

3. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex? If yes, why?
yes, I was a tom-boy, fought the school bully in 5th grade for talkin' smack about my dad.  Hey my mom was M.I.A., so i was more partial to dad.

4. Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people? When?
When I was 6, 7 or 8 in children's church.  When I realized my voice cracked and that I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket I gave up my fantasy of becoming the next Sandi Patti.

5. What's the first thing you notice about your preferred sex?
I don't notice them anymore, but the first thing I notice about anyone is their eyes.  Do they look you in the eyes when speaking with you.
6. What really turns you off?
Self-Importance or low self-esteem.  Ooooh, and body odor.

7. What is your biggest mistake?
Let's not go there shall we, there are way too many, and besides they have shaped who I have become.

8. Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose?
Yes, 3 times, it's called pregnancy and childbirth!

9. Say something totally random about yourself.
I have 11 toenails.  Technically 11 toes, but they are grown together with 2 toenails on the one 2 toe.

10. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
Sissy Spacek, I CONSTANTLY got told I looked like her...Uggg...  And, back in the day when my hair was major long, and I had blonde highlights, I was always told I looked like Claudia Schiffer - we both have those high cheek bones and bugs bunny type front teeth.  If I let my hair grow and cut and style it a certain way, I still get told that.

11. Do you still watch kiddie movies or TV shows?
I mentioned intentionally hurting myself 3 times, what do you think is on our tv 99% of the time.

12. Are you comfortable with your height?
Yeah, not like I can do anything about it now is there?

13. What is the most romantic thing someone of the preferred sex has done for you?
A "jar-head" I went out with a few times, took me on a moonlit picnic in a park with strawberries and whipped cream for dessert.

14. When do you know it's love?
When God says so.  And when you totally trust that person with everything that is in you, that you know they don't care about what you don't do perfect, when you can see how much they love you in their eyes.

15. What's something that really annoys you?
"Men of God" that flout the Word.  Televangelists, especially:  Graham, Osteen, what's hisname, the Indian guy that is always wearing those obnoxious white suits????  arrrrggg, what is his name, Ah...Benny Hinn.    Basically anyone that is the "shepherd" of a "flock" and twists the Word to fit their beliefs.  Who STEAL money from their congregations - yes I said Steal.  We should be like the church in Acts Ch.2, living Holy and Righteous lives!!!

Thanks to our Troops

Facebook | Share

So Xerox is doing this thing called Lets Say Thanks to our troops. They have collected artwork from kids all over the U.S. and made them into cards that they will print out and send our men and women overseas. Whether or not you agree with us being in the Middle East is a moot point. Our military personnel are not draft dodgers, they didn't get dragged over there kicking and screaming, they willingly signed up, left all that they know to fight for the U.S. even if it is a fake war.

There are terrorists out there, but that isn't why we are in Iraq & Afghanistan, we are over there as a power play, a way to secure more oil for our nation. Call me crazy, paranoid, cynical, whatever, be the evidence, the PROOF says that it wasn't Al Queda that terrorized this nation on 9/11, but something more sinister than most of us care to face or even think about. It is a monster that we can't even fight, because it is a enemy within. I'll go into that in another post, outlining proof of my statements.

Let me get back to my main point though. Our men and women need our support, and encouragement, especially now with the Christmas season upon us. Please go to www.letssaythanks.com and pick a card to send to a soldier. All the men in my family, except for my generation have served in the Armed Forces. I was going to enlist in the service upon completion of High School, I was even in the J.R.O.T.C. program at my high school, but because of bum left ear I was rejected, nevertheless I support what these men and women do, they risk their lives to protect our freedoms, even if their commander in chief is an idiot of gigantic proportions; this would mean the last 4 administrations, at least.

Please send our Troops a Big Thanks!

Forgetting English

Okay so my middle child, the youngest girl whose name is Isabel, has been staying with her great Aunt for the last month and half in Constanta, which is about a 2 hour drive from where we live in Tulcea.  Not too bad except for the price of gas these days.  So she is learning all kinds of new things, particularly the Romanian language, which she really needs for when she starts school in September.  She is 100% fluent!  Which is awesome.

So my husband's cousin (G.Aunt's son) wanted to come to Tulcea to go fishing with Marius.  Tulcea is on the delta of the Danube River, lots and lots of fishing here.  So we asked him to bring Isabel with him, so his mom had to come to because Isabel won't go further than the store by their house without her.  So they came in night before last.  Isabel comes home - she has forgotten English!!!  Not completely, but when I would talk to her to ask or tell her something she had this blank look on her face.  Marius would tell her what I said in Romanian, and she got it.  Talk about make a mother really upset, is realizing that her own child doesn't fully understand what she's saying anymore!

She decided to go back to her great aunt's house, and we are going to go get her in about 4 weeks, when the slaughter the pig they've been raising on December 21st.  Yeah, I'm hoping its slaughtered before we get there.  However Isabel has helped slaughter a duck and chicken and clean them.  I know that sounds gross, but really, she will learn things like this that she won't be able to learn anywhere else, especially if we were still in the states.

I am happy that she has mastered a second language, however forgetting English kinda upsets me, I'm trying to find a balance with it in my mind, and especially my heart.  I know it will all be okay, that I'm going to have to work a little harder to help her learn to read and write in English, and comprehend the meanings of the words, I just wish she had not started to forget her first language, especially since she refused to even try to learn Romanian for the first 6 months of our being here.

Awesome Blogger Award

Okay, so my friend Melissa, whom I've known since middle school awarded me with the "Awesome Blogger" award.  Melissa has a very witty blog called Little Miss Married.  The stiputlations of being granted said title include me giving 7, count 'em 1.2.3.4.5.6.7 "intersting" facts about myself, and listing 5 new bloggers.  Well, I only know one new blogger, and I don't really consider myself as "intersting" in the conventional sense, but I'll give it a go!

7 Intesting Things about me:

1.  I scored a 143 on an IQ test.  That should be considered interesting since, if memory serves, that makes me a borderline genius. Genius at what I've yet to decipher, seeing as how most of what I touch seems to turn to crap! Not really, but it feels like that sometimes!

2.  I am a brutally honest person.  Maybe not brutal, but honest.  I detest lying in any shape, form, or fashion.  Honesty is the best policy in every facet of life.  I try to temper everything with love, however my wickedly bad Irish temper passion gets the better of me sometimes.

3.  I have 3 BEAUTIFUL children who look absolutely nothing alike! See photo below.  An absolutely beautiful, wonderful, adoring husband, who was everything I prayed for and dreamed of for a husband and father!

4.  I suffer from selective memory. Let me explain.  I can remember bible verses and their address.  I can remember law, and their legal numbers.  I can remember case law Snyder vs. USFDA, etc., etc.  But I can't remember what you asked me for 20 minutes ago, unless it's something that pique's my interest.

5.  I live in Romania, because of stupid antiquated out-dated Immigration laws.  Please do NOT try to argue with me about the current Immigration problems in the U.S.  You will be barking up the wrong tree, and will definitely be picking a fight you will lose. (there is an example of said "brutal honesty")

6.  I am an AWESOME cook!  I don't generally toot my own horn, but when it comes to cooking or baking, I can kick butt.  I'm no Julia Childs, I wouldn't cut the mustard on my presentation, but the taste, Oooooo Mama! Do quote Johnny Bravo!

7.  I am a Nerd!  Yes, I own it, I am a total and complete dork.  I make silly faces, talk in silly voices, sometimes with an accent!  I love silly movies like "So I  Married An Axe Murderer" (seriously, funniest movie evah)!  I love technology, I am a computer geek/buff, etc.  Learning what I can about photography for when I can finally afford a Digital SLR!   I can recite every line to just about every Star Wars flick, every movie adapted from a Jane Austen novel.  I am basically an American version of Bridget Jones, minus the drinking!

8.  I'm adding one extra, and it's not last because it's least important, but because we always save the best for last right?  I am a Christian.  This means I follow the Words of Jesus Christ, not Billy Graham, Joel Osteen, Larry Stockstill, T.D. Jakes, or any other "man of God".  Man if fallible, full of error.  I serve, believe in and LOVE God - whose word never returns void.  Who became flesh, and died a horrible death so that I, my husband, children, family, friends, EVERYONE could be redeemed unto Him.  It is not I who lives, But, Christ who lives in me.  He has changed and transformed me.  I die daily to the flesh so that I can become more like him!  I want to be "Mistaken"!  (Warren Barfield)

So there it is seven "interesting" (to whom I don't know) things about me.  Sorry if I bored you into a coma, but that is me!!  I won't apologize, because diversity is the spice of life.  If we were all teh same, what a truly ugly and boring world it would be.

Okay so  the only new blogger that I know is a young wife, mother of a new baby girl, and excellent, awesome, pure hearted woman of God, Danielle.  I've known her for years now.  She saw me when I was still rebellious, drinking and partying, and then she saw God transform me.  It was because of hers, her family, my family and our mutal friends prayers that I am still alive and here serving an awesome God!  Her blog is here.

So Danielle, I think maybe now you have to list 7 intersting things about yourself and list whatever new bloggers you know!

Feeling Better, then I hear about Obama-Care....

After 3 days of feeling like the battle of Gettysburg was raging inside my head and sinus cavities, I finally feel better.  My 2 1/2 yr. old son was dealing with the same thing, only he didn't show it - he was still running around and tormenting his older sister!  Why can't adults be as resilient as kids???  So not fair.

So I'm online trying to catch up on emails, Facebook, the news, etc.  and I find out that Pelosi and the other knot-heads in D.C. pushed Obama-Care through the House without any debate whatsoever .... so much for transperancy, eh?  Well our Senators will hopefully remember that WE THE PEOPLE pay their checks and we don't want a health care bill that has tax-payer funded abortion, "death-panels", and most importantly, why should we take a health plan that they have opted out of?!?

Oh and the "let's not jump to conclusions about Ft.Hood...."  but first he gives a "shout-out"?!?  WTCrap??  Forget his birth certificate, has anyone checked to see if he has any balls or brains???

I need to stop I feel the war starting up in my head again.....

Answering a Question: My Testimony

I was raised in church, accepted Christ young, was baptized, been told I had a huge calling on my life early on -that when I prayed you felt His presence.  This is what my dad, and Aunt have told me.  The pastor of our church (Bethany World Prayer Center) had me pray over the Heartbeat Abortion rally @ the LA State capital when I was five....I don't remember that part, I remember the silent march for the  unborn though.

Somewhere along the way I lost my way.  I believe it was after my grandma died.  My real mom disappeared when I was 4.  I ran like crazy from God for a Long LOOONG time!!!  One night @ my stomping ground - went to the ladies room for another bump, and I heard God speak to me, ask my why I was doing what I was doing, when I knew the Truth, and that He had so much more for me.  I told Him (how stupid of me) to leave me alone, that I made my bed, and I'd sleep in it if I had to!  So he did - for 2 yrs. he left me alone (I thought).  Looking back - I can see where His hand prevented my death several times.  Then in February of 2002, on my b-day bash, I couldn't get a buzz for anything, no matter what I took or drank.  I felt awful.  I went into a room at my friends place to lay down.  I wept, and wept and cried out to God to save me, forgive me, and pull me away from my "friends" cause I couldn't do it on my own.  2 days later I got the BEST reason to stay away from what I was doing - my daughter.  I found out I was pregnant.  Yes, she was a product of my sin, but Romans 8:28 says that He works ALL things together for the good of those that love Him and ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE!
When my daughter was 8 months old the Lord put my husband in our path.  Out of the mouths of babes - my daughter immediately called him "daddy" - no coaching, I promise you!  He used my daughter to confirm what He was speaking to my heart.  Fast-forward 5 1/2 yrs.  I am living with my hubby in his home country of Romania, we have 2 more children together, another girl, and a son, and I have a husband who love Him more than he loves me.  I trust my husband.  He is a great husband, father, provider, teacher, etc., etc.  It's because of Jesus, that we can boldly go into the throne room.  It's because of Jesus that I am still here today, that my family is whole.  It's because of Him that I live!

Broccoli Obama

So my 7 year old asked me last night, "Who's the president in America??  I forgot his name"  I said, "Oh, Barak Obama"  She giggled and said  "Broccoli Obama!!  No wait, Coffee Obama"!!!

Now I don't know why, but I thought that was funny!  I mean Broccoli - yeah it's a play on his name, but it also describes his mental state when it comes to politics - vegetative!!!!  The Coffee I thought was pretty intuitive of her as well, since we drink our coffee with creamer in it, and he is black and white!!!  Now I don't talk politics in front of my kids.  They have to decide where they stand when they get old enough!

I am not a fan of Barack Hussein - yeah I used your middle name - Obama!  He is a closet marxits-muslim.  He hasn't done anything, like most politicians.  I wasn't a huge "W" fan either.  Reagan was cool, probably one of the last good ones we've had outside of JFK since before Wilson.  But Obama won the presidency through iconography - a dangerous thing, considering we make icons out of people who really shouldn't be given that much attention.  Monroe, Warhohl, Che Guevara, etc.  those are just a few examples.  Che is by far the most dangerous of all people who have been given Iconic status in our society.  Think about it.

God has taught me to hold my tongue...

Ask anyone who knows me, I am very outspoken.  I try to temper everything that I say with love, but of course sometimes my humanity gets the better of me, and it doesn't come out the right way.  My husband has taught me a lot about holding my tongue, about knowing when to speak and when to listen.  Knowing which battles are worth it and which aren't.  These have been hard lessons for me to learn, mainly because I'm so hard-headed, and am very passionate.

However, God has found a way to help me keep my mouth shut to those I feel then need to put in their place, so to speak.  He did that by moving me over 2,000 miles from my south Louisiana home to the middle of nowhere Romania, where I don't speak the language, and where the cultural differences are HUGE.

For instance, my mother-in-law, whom I love, can drive me nuts.  It's like she has this insatiable need to always have some sort of melo-drama playing out.  And it is usually instigated by my brother-in-law's wife.  Now my MIL I can deal with, she's being egged on by a woman with no heart or soul, who is very selfish and self-centered, so much so, she can't even be bothered to raise her own two sons, instead her mother's raises the oldest one - from her 1st marriage, and our MIL raises her son with my brother in law.  Did you get confused there, yeah, I know; sorry.  She has taught my middle child to curse in Romanian.  We were there when she was putting filth in my child's mouth, and my husband stopped her, she said something to the effect of "she'll learn it at school and from other kids".  My hubby didn't tell me what was going on, till several days later.  I of course hit the roof and was ready to get in the car, drive to her house, and yell at her in English - she would've understood me.  My hubby said, why, why do something that isn't going to do any good?  Why get down on her level?  Just ignore her and pray for her.

Well I pray for her, but I literally cringe when I see her.  I keep waiting for the day when she asks my why I haven't learned Romanian yet, I'll have a few choice words that my husband can translate or not.  I think God has slowed my learning curve down on this new language, just because of people like my sister in law.  I've said it before in another post, that they people here are rude.  It stems from 40+ years under communist rule, where you had to stand in line for hours for food, and then it was rationed.  You had no electricity till after the sun went down.  There is no such thing as customer service here.  Waiters, cashiers, government workers, etc. they are all rude, and impatient.

Two examples.  One of the grocery stores here - there are two check out lanes.  You put your items on the counter, there is someone in front of you.  Being from America, I have a concept of personal space, so I leave some room between my buggy and the person in front of me.  The people behind me have never heard of personal space, and will push you with their buggy.  If they don't have a buggy they will literally stand right on top of you.  I want to turn around and ask them if they want to crawl up my butt, cause that's what it feels like.  Then when all your items are rung up, they have to look to see how much you just spent.
Second example the Post Office.  The only time I go to the PO is when I get a notice that my family or friends have mailed me a package from back home - it usually involves Hazelnut creamer, something I can't get here.  Well you can only pick up  or send International packages on Monday's and Thursday's between the hours of 1 & 3.  The reason, a customs agent has to be there to inspect the contents of the package.  I tried to send a package back home to some friends of ours.  I didn't tape up the package, cause I knew it needed to be inspected.  It was inspected, she told me I needed to tape it up, I said I didn't have tape, and asked if they did, NU!  What kind of PO doesn't have packaging tape?????  I was livid!  I had just stood in line for 45 minutes!!!!  I grabbed my package, and mumbled "Friggin' Communists" as I walked out!  I KNOW, I know, not the best witness.  I repented, I feel guilty about it, but still, I mean, c'mon.  They didn't have any tape?? I would've paid for it!

These are the kinds of things, the differences here that drive me insane!  God is smart - he knows what he's doing, he knows, that stupidity like that will set me off, so he slowed my usually fast learning curve on this language thing.  Which is good, but it's bad too, because I don't understand a word being said when I want to understand - like church for example.  I don't understand anything, and the services here are v.different than what I am used to.  I am used to more of the "charismatic" churches.  There is one baptist church in our city, and there is a lot of standing and sitting - reminds me of a Catholic church.  But I think till I learn to let things go and see people and things through Christ's eyes, God will have a hold on my tongue!

Evolution...

I just recieved the cutest joke about evolution in my email!  I do not believe in Evolution, it is a theory used to promote racism.  I also don't hold to the "race" thing either, there aren't sub-species of humas, we are all ONE RACE: The Human Race.  A Really Good book on both subjects is "Darwin's Plantation".

  So anyway, here's the joke:

A little girl asked her mother, 'How did the human race appear?' The

mother answered, 'God made Adam and Eve and they had children, and so

all mankind was made.'

Two days later the girl asked her father the same question.

The father answered, "Many years ago there were monkeys from which the

human race evolved."

The confused girl returned to her mother and said, 'Mom, how is it

possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad

said they were developed from monkeys?'

The mother answered, 'Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about

my side of the family and your father told you about his.’

I thought this was too cute not to share, so I did!

5 Q&A's for Blog-Hop

So today's Blog hop consists of 5, count 'em 1-2-3-4-5 Questions, to which you have to answer.  Yeah, well here goes:

1.  What is your dream job?
One that allows me to make the most amount of money for the least amount of work!  LOL!!
Seriously, I would prefer to be an attorney, either criminal or immigration.  Law suits just don't do it for me.

2.  What song could you listen to over and over?
The Revelation song by Christ for the Nations.  Awesome song, very powerful!

3.  Do you prefer to talk on the phone, text or email?
It depends who the person is.  I can talk to most of my friends on the phone till the cows come home.  If it is someone I really don't know, I would prefer email or text.  You tend to keep it shorter with those two mediums.

4. What is your MUST-HAVE beauty product?
Make-up, esp. foundation & mascara.  I've got that pale irish skin, with loads of freckles, without either of those I look like a red-headed version of Snow-White, minus the 7 dwarfs!!!

5.  What is your favorite Michael Jackson song?
Ewww.. gross.  Don't like M.J.  never have, so I don't have a fav. M.J. song.  I was a little more than annoyed when I saw nothing but M.J. videos and tributes on the T.V. for 2 months straight following his passing.

U.S. is a Republic NOT a Democracy

Contrary to what the media, and distorted history books, and biased University professors would have you believe, along with your children, grandchildren, etc.  The United States is NOT a Democracy, we are in fact a REPUBLIC.  There is an exceptionl education video on YouTube, which you can view by clicking here.

I would urge you all to watch it, it just over 10 minutes in length.  Would be ideal for your kids who are in school to watch it as well.

Looking for work.

So I'm helping my hubby try to find work outside of Romania, because well, there just aren't any jobs here.  What few there are don't pay well at all.  So I've scoured the net for Plastering, i.e. Stucco companies here in Europe.  Most seem to be in the U.K., which is great, since their currency is worth more than even the Euro.

Draw backs to Marius (hubby's name btw) working outside the country.  We won't see him for MONTHS at a time.  The upside is that we will save massive amounts of money by him will allow to save a bunch of money in a short amount of time!  Another upside, is it will give me and the kids a reason to spend money on a "vacation", enabling us to see more of Europe, which is awesome.  I've always wanted to see London, but more than that, Ireland, home of most of my ancestors!  Please pray that this one company that has responded, will sponsor Marius to work in the U.K., pay his asking price and give him at least a one year contract.

Christmas

So here it is my "reason for the season" blog.  Most of us know why we have Christmas, the birth of Jesus CHRIST, our Lord and Savior.  Now as the Jehovah's Witnesses will tell you, Christ was not born December 25th.  If you do your homework, you know that on this point they are correct, even if they miss the mark on just about everything else.    If we read in the Gospel of Luke Chapter 2 verse 8, we see this (KJV):  "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night."
Shepherds don't take their flocks out into the country side during the winter, they stay closer to their homes, because of the cold, and the winter.  Christ was more than likely born sometime between September and November.

The birth of Christ fulfilled so many prophecies, many of which were by Isaiah.  Born of a virgin, born in a stable, and laid in a manger, surrounded by animals. Born in Judea to fulfill the prophecy "And though Bethlehem in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda:  for out of thee shall come a Govenor, that shall rule my people Isreal."
His parents fled to Egypt to save him from being killed, so as to fulfill the prophecy:  "Out of Egypt have I called my son".  When the children of Isreal were being killed, yet another prophecy was fulfilled:  "In Ra'-ma was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Ra'-chel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not."  All these scriptures were taken from the 1st Chapter of the Gospel of Matthew.

We exchange gifts as a reminder of the Gift of Love, Redemption and Salvation that God the Father gave us over 2,000 years ago in the form of a baby.  A babe who grew into a man, who carried the sin and burdens of this world on His shoulders, when he made the ultimate atoning sacrifice on the cross.  The sinless man became sin to redeem us back to the Father.  We exchange gifts as a way of saying "Yes, Lord, we remember your love. We thank you for your goodness and kindness".

If you go back and re-read the book of Genesis, you can see that Adam and Eve were created to remain immortal, to stay with God in the Garden for eternity.  God created this earth for our enjoyment, and we spat in his face.  Look at how much God loves us:  Genesis chapter 22, where God tells Abraham to sacrifice his son, his beloved son Isaac.  God provided a Ram, a symbol of Christ.  See since Man's fall in the Garden, God planned on redeeming His beloved back to Himself.  That is the essence of Christmas.  The giving of one life for all.

Wish Lists

Thank you Melissa for the idea of this blog. This is her original thought for a blog not mine, so originality is not in this blog...hehehehe.

So Christmas is rapidly approaching, as it does every year.  I detest shopping, and I'm sure this year will be even worse for me what with the language barrier and old Communist mentality = RUDENESS!!!  Hubby and I won't be exchanging gifts this year - they don't have anything here either of care to spend money on.  But I still have a wish list just the same, and 2 of them are just like Melissa's - head over to "Little Miss Married, she's a hoot!

So here's my list in no particular order.  Photos with description underneath:

A Digital SLR, preferably the Nikon D60 with all the bells and whistles!!

 Down Pillows and Comforter
Because not only are they soft & comfy, but they will keep me warm during the v.long, v.cold winters here!

iPod Shuffle - 4GB - it's small and it talks to you!!!
It's awesome for shopping - I don't have to talk to anyone, which doesn't really help me learn the local language, but I get tired of getting looked at crazy when I do try to talk, cause my grammer is bad.

My Own HOME - no photo, because everything  here is in an apartment building that was built at the height of Communism.  They aren't pretty to look at, so I ain't bothering with a pic.

XBOX 360 with all the HALO games & Sniper Elite
Yes, unfortunately I love the gaming thing, too much, I beat my hubby, especially at the strategic shooting games like Sniper Elite. hehehe - that's the 'tom-boy' in me!  GEAUX TIGERS!

And Most Importantly my family's health and happiness.

Of course Christmas isn't about what gifts you get and what you give, It's about so much more than that!  But as to that, I will save for my next blog, as I have many scriptures I want to line up first to go with it.

Okay to trash Christ, but not Allah....

So I opened my I.E. which goes to my homepage: Yahoo.  I see a headline "Landmark spared in disaster flick".  I click the link and see this:  "The Christ the Redeemer statue and Vatican are destroyed in "2012," but not the Kaaba".  So I open the link to read the whole story.  *click on the blog title to go to the Yahoo site and read said story*

Director Roland Emmerich said he wanted to destory the Kaaba in the move but didn't, because his "...co-writer said 'I won't have a faqua on my head for a movie', and he was right".  CRAZY DIRECTOR MAN SAY WHAT?!?!?  So instead of making entertainment for the masses, Muslims included, you won't bend to your creative will because some Mullah might put a price on your head???

But wait, it gets worse!!  The director also said this:  "We have to all, in the western world, think about this. You can actually let Christian symbols fall apart, but if you would do this with [an] Arab symbol, you would have ... a fatwa, and that sounds a little bit like what the state of this world is. So it's just something which I kind of didn't [think] was [an] important element, anyway, in the film, so I kind of left it out."

So basically in Mr. Emmerich's opinion it totally okay to jest at Christianity, and tear it down, and call it's believer's idiots, but don't do that with Islam, no.....we must do that, because then we will piss off a lot of  "peaceful muslims"!  That's what they say right, Islam is a religion of peace, but don't "destroy" their mecca in a movie, which is make-believe, because then they will be out for your blood!  Isn't this a double standard?

Yes, there are people out there that claim to be Christians, and do horrendous things, but a Christian leader would never put a price on anyone's head for destroying Christian icons or monuments, whether in reality or make-believe.  Christianity is peaceful, it is about love, and redemption.  However when director's of a movie refuse to do what they want creatively because it  might put a price on their head, then that religion which has been called peaceful, really isn't so peaceful, now is it?!?

I am tired of the double standard in the world where Christianity is concerned.  It irritates me, and although I know that Christ said we would be persecuted and mocked for His namesake, it still bothers me.  That's my  humanity, I guess.  Make fun of the Christians, burn their churches, jail their pastors and priests for their words - which come from the bible, all in the name of Hate Crimes! But leave the Budda-ists, Hare-Krishna's, Hindu's, Muslim's, Atheists, Agnostic's, basically every other religious belief alone - just go after those Christians!

Do NOT misunderstand me, no one should be jailed, mocked, hated or persecuted for their religious or non-religious beliefs, but don't talk to me about equal rights and treatment, when the whole world is hell bent on persecuting me for belief Christ Jesus!

Fried Green Tomatoes

So we went to a friends house last night, and she had a HUGE crate full of green tomatoes, so I had my husband ask her if I could get some from her, cause I wanted to make some "fried green tomatoes".  This has never been heard of in Romania, so of course a strange look followed said statement.  She gave me the whole crate!!

So here I just finished making some fried green tomatoes.  I followed this recipe, well sorta.  I didn't have bread crumbs, and of course I used Tony Chacherae's - which I had my parents ship me, and they are shipping me more, as it is a staple in my kitchen - hello I was raised in Cajun country!!!  Geaux Tigers!!!!  Anyway, they aren't too shabby, I'm eating them now....in between thoughts!  I topped with some grated parmesean, not fresh unfortunately - I can only find local cheeses here, which are great, but not the same.  No cheddar, barely any mozerella, or swiss, but LOTS and LOTS of Feta, which is great with some summer sausage, fresh tomoatoes and bread!!!  Yummy!  So here is a picture of my finished F.G.T.'s:

Girly Appliances

So who says that kitchen and home appliances have to be boring and dull to look at. Thanks to the folks over at LG, now women in Europe, or at least in Romania, can have pretty feminie fridges and washing machines.

We will hopefully be buying an apartment in January, and of course I will need to buy appliances for it.  Now I can have "girly" appliances - a matching fridge and washing machine, no less.  Hopefully they will make a stove and oven to match - hehehehe, then I will truly be in "hog heaven".

The pictures of desired appliances are below!!!

This was taken from the website, but I saw one in the store over the weekend - they are GORGEOUS!!!  The colors are deeper and richer, and there are crystals in the lines of the flower on the upper part of the right door!!!!

This is actually a better resolution than the one of the fridge.  I didn't see this machine in the store, but I'm v.happy to know that it exists!!!  They both have an energy rating of A++ - whoo-hoo!!!

I would love to have these appliances, they are just too pretty not to have!  Of course at this point I would settle for any old washing machine, as I am currently without one and am having to do laundry for a family of 5, by hand!  Yeah, not fun.  It's back breaking, skin-dehydrating work, that has given me more crows feet and gray hair than I care to admit to!  So if you are a praying person, please pray for the following for me and my family:

  1)  Our own apartment/house, one which we don't pay rent to live in.
  2)  Fridge & Washing Machine - preferably those pictured above.

I would love these appliances, they are pretty, and fun to look at.  However a plain old white fridge & washing machine would work.  Just me wishful thinking!

FOLLOWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have followers! YEA!! I must be funny or smart, or something right, I mean there is one other person besides my friend Mel, who I've knows since H.S., and who got me started on this blogging thing. I think she feels obligated. But now I have a "follower" whom I don't know! The whole I have a "follower" kinda makes me sound like David Koresch or something...eww... Gag, hack, cough!!!

So to anyone who is following me, please, comment let me know what you would like to read about, what you would like me to STOP writing about!!! Okay 7 & 2 yr. old are putting the boys on the WWF to shame - gotta run.

Missionaries

Okay, so I have several friends who are doing the work that Christ commanded which is to go out into all the world and spread the Gospel, which is Christ crucified, buried and resurrected.  They are some of the most compassionate people I have ever met and truly exude Christ in their every word, movement, and deed.

Two of them are Tim & Jennifer Kleinpeter.  I put together a video for them at their request, and it is available on YouTube.  You can watch it below.  They have 3 kids, all the same age as mine.  Me & Jenn always seem to be pregnant at the same time.   Tim & Jenn are missionaries to India.

Another set of Missionaries that I love dearly are Ben & Ashley Fisher. They are missionaries in Asia's 10/40 window. They have a website that you can visit, here.

The Kleinpeters & Fisher's operate under the leadership of Steven & Barbara Nicaud. Steven is an awesome man of God. You feel the presence of the Lord on him when he enters the room. It is a real tangible presence. It is men like Bro. Nicaud that make me wonder how people can't believe in God, when His presence is so strong!!! Please check out the Nicaud's website as well. His wife Barbara has some awesome recipes.

Blogging

While I love the fact that I can spew out whatever is rattling around in my head for me to read later, or for anyone who wants to to read, I have to wonder, are all of "bloggers" just psuedo-journalists?  Are we all trying to fulfill some "His Girl Friday" fantasy that we had at some point in the distant past?

For myself, yes that is a bit true.  Writing has always been a passion of mine, even if I am only a mediocre talent.  I wanted to be a journalist, in the manner of Rosalind Russel from aforementioned film.  I wanted to chase down the stories - the truth, and then put out three in black and white for all eternity, for everyone to see.  However I got stupid and didn't go to college, so now those dreams are gone, vapors!!  So here I am "scribbling" dribble in a vain attempt to soothe my regret!

If I humor, inspire, or give some other warm, fuzzy, beautiful feeling - I'm happy!  Hopefully I won't anger anyone, but if I do, please know it's not intentional.

Blog Hop-ing

So I decided to do the McLinkly Blog Hop.  The topic or theme is Favorite Pictures.  So here we go, I'm gonna try it.

This is a picture of my youngest daughter's feet, as we took a boat ride around Lake Soara.

Yellow Lady Bugs, until now, I thought they were make believe!

My oldest child has such an angel face!!!

My hubby & son at the beach on the Black Sea.
They were making the same face @ the same time, only they didn't know  they were both making the same face.  Gives a whole new meaning to the term 'Priceless', don't ya think???

My Youngest daughter in what we call her "Papparrzi" photo:
she loves to sing & dance, and is the ultimate drama queen!

So there they are my favorite photos so far, till I find more that I really love!

The Dinner Rolls that almost were

Okay, continuing the previous blog about dinner rolls and the fresh vs. active dry yeast debacle, has come to it's fruition.  While the rolls are great fresh out of the oven, it is evident that once they have cooled they can be used as projectile weapons of nearly mass destruction.  I'm not laughing.  I take pride in my cooking, and I rarely have a miss, however I did with these, and I believe it comes from said yeast debate!!!  I think I used too little yeast, not to mention the fact that my house is colder than it should be as we have NO heat, yes you read that right.  It's too expensive to pay for heat, 200 RON/month.  When you are only bringing in say 2,000 RON a month, minus 750 for rent around 60 for water, at least 200/week for food, and about 400/month on gas for your car, you really don't have a lot left over for heating your home. Instead you bundle the crap up!!!

So I need to find a better answer to the whole yeast conversion thing; not just the fresh vs. dry, but also U.S. measurements vs. metric.  Math was never my strong suite, so GOD help me please!!!

Internet, my v.b.f.f.

Yes, it's sad and pathetic to acknowledge that a piece of "invisible" technology is my best friend, my only friend these days!  While my my nearest and dearest are physically 2,000 miles away from me, the internet is what keeps me connected to their lives, and mine to them....not sure how much they want to be connected though!  LOL!!

Seriously the internet is a great invention, no thanks to Mr. "The Earth is going to explode in a ball of fire" Gore!!  I think ole boy was smoking crack when made the statement that he invented the internet!  Whatever Mr. Gore - your home and that concert you hosted produced more carbon dioxide the all the homes in America combined produced in 1 year!  So puhleeze!  But anyway, the internet not only connects me to those dearest to my heart, it also helps me research fact from fiction, helpful hints, ideas for taming the terrible two's, ways to kill time!!!

With this wonderful invention, and life saver for me, is also my greatest hinderance.  I spend more time online on FaceBook, and now Blogspot than I really should.  My house work does get a little neglected, which is not good, as all that movement would help keep  me warm what with this extrememly cold winter already upon me.    It was also make hubby much more happier to have a "perfect" home to come to every night, but then again I ain't Betty Crocker, never said I was, would like to be, and I hope to be, but I just don't think I have it in me to be so!

Where's the western influence when ya need it???

Oy-vey!!!  So where is all that "We wanna be like America" crap when you *really* need it???  So I found what sounds like a perfectly delightful and scrumptious recipe for French Bread Dinner Rolls.  Of course, like most baking recipes that call for yeast - the call for Active Dry Yeast.  The only thing I can find here is Fresh Yeast, which is great, but kinda hard to do all the mathematical conversions of grams to tablespoons, etc.  Then trying to figure out how much of  the 25g package of fresh yeast to use for 6.5 grams!

So I make the dough, I eye-ball the yeast.  I don't know if it will work, maybe I used to much, maybe I didn't use enough, I don't know, we'll see in about 2 hours.  Just another one of those things that makes me want to bang my head against the brick wall!

The dough so far doesn't look like it's rising - of course it's only been 10 minutes!  I can't find measuring cups here either, I had to have a friend mail me some!!!  I'm not one of those people who can eyeball everything, unless I am making something I've made millions of times, or that I came up with on my own.  I need a cast iron skillet to make my cornbread for t-day, no such luck here!  However, my dad sent me and email this a.m. said he was mailing me something but wouldn't say what!  He knows how much I love t-day and making my grandma's dressing, so who knows.  Of course he could be sending me a coffee pot - the french drip kind that Melissa raves about.  Speaking of which, check out the rest of Melissa's blog - she's funny, witty, and sweet!  I've known her since middle school I think, not sure I just know it's been a LONG time!!!

I'll let you know how the rolls come out!

Holiday Cooking

Thanksgiving is upon us, one of my favorite holidays!!!!  Unfortunately I won't be able to make my sweet potato casserole this year, since I can't find sweet potatoes here!  Grrr....  However I can make my cornbread dressing, a killer turkey, and green bean casserole.  However for the green beans I'm gonna have to figure how how to make the french fried onions - that could prove disastrous, but I'll keep you posted.

If you are looking for some good recipes for the holidays, might I suggest visiting www.allrecipes.com They have some really great recipes that you have to try.  One of them is my grandmother's cornbread dressing.  I probably shouldn't be giving away family recipes, but her dressing was the absolute BEST dressing I have ever eaten.  You can find it here.  If you want a really juicy, succulent turkey, then use this recipe.  This is the BEST turkey ever!  Really awesome apple pie??  Then try this.  The pie shell for this apple pie can be found here.

There is a plethora of great recipes to be found on that site.  I'm not the greatest chef, but if you have questions about anything let me know.  I have a treasure trove of information!!

Snips, Snails & Puppy-dog Tails...

That is definitely what little boys are made of.  There is a HUGE difference between boys and girls, even from birth.  As they get older, the difference are more noticeable.  For instance, my son is automatically drawn to cars, dirt, fighting, ripping dolls apart.  Where as my daughters were automatically drawn to dolls, and coloring, sparkles and princesses.  It's funny to watch the differences in all of my children, but so entertaining as my son.  He finds farting funny, even at the age of two - so it is obviously a guy thing.  His hands are inevitably drawn to his member - he pulls and yanks at it - almost as if using it for a steering wheel.  He is more affectionate towards me than he is his dad - he is a momma's boy, for now anyway!

He already is making fun of people based on their appearance which isn't good, but for a 2 yr. old, it's pretty darn funny!  The only thing that makes me scratch my head, is his fascination with lip gloss!!!  He CONSTANTLY wants my lip gloss!!!  I don't know if he likes the way it makes his lips feel or if it just tastes good!!

He makes faces already too!!  He reminds me of my brother, who can do a dead-on Donald Duck impersonation, actually by brother can impersonate anything and anyone!!  My son reminds me of him so much!  He is a toddler version of the comic strip character "Calvin" from "Calvin & Hobbes".  Actually my brother's name is Calvin too!  My son even has a favorite stuffed animal - Monkey!!!

You Can't Alway Get What You Want....

But if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need. The Rolling Stones obviously knew what they were singing about there. Since moving to Europe, I now understand why people nearly kill themselves, and risk everything they have to get to the U.S. It's not for our "freedoms" - most emmigrants never vote, they could care less about politics. No, what they love about the U.S. is they fact that they can make un-godly amounts of money, own a "Big" house, a new car, have more than enough food, cheap utlitlies, and the convenience of Wal-Mart.

See here, you can't find everything at one place - you have to literally WALK all over the city to get everything on your list. The cost of living is almost the exact same amount of your monthly income, thereby making it impossible to make a better life. House and apartments are tiny and cramped. Even the "BIG" houses here are small compared to what you find in the older average 1500 sq.ft. house back home. Yeah, my thoughts exactly. At least that is how it is in Romania. Water and electricity is outrageous. Don't think about leaving water running even when bathing. You get in the tub, turn the water on, hose down, turn water off. Lather up, wash good! Turn water on, rinse, turn water off, get out!

Romania is one of those countries that didn't fare well post communism. Economically it has NEVER recovered, and the fall was 20 years ago Dec. 1st of this year. There are still horse drawn carts that are used, even in the larger cities you can even see warning signs posted next to speed limit and other traffic signs. See the photo at the top of the blog.

You can buy fresh cheese, meaning, no preservatives, chemicals, colorants, etc. You can get fresh meat, from animals that were not fed chemicals. Fresh eggs, bread, sour cream yogurt, etc., etc. That is the wonderful thing about this country. The bad thing is that there is zero common sense, manners or customer service here. When standing in the checkout lane at the market, you will get pushed with the buggy of the person behind you. Or if they don't have a buggy they stand right on top of you, and when the person in front of you moves half a step, you better moved, cause that person behind you is going to push you. It irritates the mess out me, and in these circumstances it works out well that I have a language barrier, cause otherwise I think I'd loose my Christianity! One of my pet peeves - invading personal space. The cashiers are rude, people walking on the street are rude. If you buy the wrong size of something - oh well you are stuck with it! Don't get me started on the Post Office - that is a whole other can of worms.

The people of Romania have a giving nature when they know you, or find out your an "AMERICANO", however the 40+ years of living under a dictator made them hard, cynical and un-trusting, and the fact that the Roma, a.k.a. Gypsies are constantly ripping people off, stealing, etc. doesn't help matters either.

There will be many more posts about my ex-pat life in Romania soon. All in all, this is a BEAUTIFUL country, with much promise, and a lot of good hearted people. Like anything, the country and people of Romania just need a little TLC to help restore them to their former beauty!

Conspiracy Theories

Okay, it must be stated, I am said Conspiracy Theorist the media warns you about. I have my doubts about the truth given us regarding 9/11 and other terrible events. I believe that the media is controlled by an elite group of people, who are power and money hungry, and will do whatever they want to keep society "in line". Lord Acton said "Power Corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely". I don't believe truer words were ever spoken.

There are several excellent "movies" out, that uncover what most of us have been led to believe. You can them on YouTube. One of them is called "The Obama Deception". It does a lot more than just attack Obama, it goes further back, it attacks Bush as well, probably not as much as most people would like, but you can't get everything you want in one place - which gives me an idea for my next blog.... but I digress. The other movie is called Zeigeist. Now about Zeigeist, I will say that I don't believe a word of what they say in regards to Christianity. Most of us know that Christ wasn't born on Dec. 25th, that Constantin instituted that to bring in the pagans so they would quit causing problems for the Roman Catholic church. And that too is a thought for another blog.

One thing that is interesting to note, is that in the Romanian newspapers, 2 weeks prior to 9/11, they printed that ALL U.S. Embassies would be closed on 9/11/01. I know this for a fact, because my husband saw it in the paper [Romanian]. And yes, I am one of those who believe that we are in fact in the last days that the birth pangs Christ spoke of are getting stronger, and if I understand the scriptures correctly, all that needs to happen is for the Anti-Christ to set himself up in the reconstructed Temple and declare himself God and the Tribulation begins. For all the pre-trib rapture believers out there, I will provide scripture and pose questions to you in regards to that, as I am more of a mid, towards the end of the trib believer. Again, for another post.

The "Joys" of Marriage

I hear what almost sounds like a chain-saw going off. My first thought is "MAN it's late" - it's 11 p.m. here. But alas, it is not the annoying neighbors who are constantly working on their antiquated pre-communist era home, nor is it the ones who live above me, that for some odd reason only fight in the pre-dawn hours of the morning, who I can't understand what they are saying. Which I must say, the language barrier actually helps in this instance! hehehehe!

But, no, the sound is coming from my beloved husband. He is passed out after a hard day of work, both physically and mentally! His current "boss" is this insane old woman who doesn't know what she wants, and doesn't want to pay for anything. N-E-Way, so there he is, the love of my life, chopping logs, and occasionally talking to said logs!
