Most of the people...I SO know how you feel, Odessa! Most of the people here are JUST as rude and nosy and selfish but I have met some really great ones too!

And where do i begin with shopping and the post office? OMG!!! No tape at ours either...and boxes cost $3! And takes weeks to get to the US and the hours are worse than bankers and vary from day to day (based on what they feel like, I guess! lol)

And for shopping everyone buys food for just the next few days and I buy for 2 weeks at a time (shopping cart packed full!) and I get so many stares - even had someone take a photo with their phone! lol And you pay for each flimsy shopping bag, bag your own groceries and people get all up in your space and glare at you...and you have to deposit money inside the shopping cart to unlock it and use it and almost all food and cooking directions are in a language that is like Greek to me and American (or even British!) food is SO hard to find here and is expensive! There is NO healthy, fat-free or low fat foods and GF/Low Carb foods are so rare and costly...and it's like $6 for a jar of French's or $3 for a bottle of ketchup and like $6 for a pack of chicken thighs...and all the bread is just left out in the open like in Mexico...SO many things are just..DIFFERENT!!! Some days I miss America but some days I just can't say enough good about Europe or even about where we live...it's just a whole new experience, and yet here we are...15 months later still in Europe with no plans on ever turning back...32 Crazy Dogs & Ushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01141998121542315623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2066055269353045964.post-43789882881010851832010-03-13T20:21:16.359+02:002010-03-13T20:21:16.359+02:00Hey Odessa,

Once, a glass ornament was shattered, another time a DVD was busted.

Drives us NUTS!

You feeling like screaming "Whats wrong with you people! Are you going to pay for what you just broke by throwing it over our fence?"

And yet, we are still here lol

Damienchaordichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07927612911706937621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2066055269353045964.post-86451464253553737062009-11-08T03:57:52.878+02:002009-11-08T03:57:52.878+02:00haha- i laughed at that too (the crawl up my butt ...haha- i laughed at that too (the crawl up my butt line). That IS retarted that they didn't have packing tape!!

I don't know how you do it, though! one thing for a missions trip, but to live somewhere that you do not know the language...idk if i could do it!!Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14815407660365883762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2066055269353045964.post-16240122160054396332009-11-08T01:33:06.970+02:002009-11-08T01:33:06.970+02:00This blog is great, lol - you remind me of me so m...This blog is great, lol - you remind me of me so much.

"My husband has taught me a lot about holding my tongue, about knowing when to speak and when to listen."

I could definitely say the exact same thing.

"I want to turn around and ask them if they want to crawl up my butt, cause that's what it feels like."

...I literally laughed out loud.Daniellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12014814684752377122noreply@blogger.com
